Campaigns let you send one-off marketing emails from Instant AI. Use them for launches, promos, and seasonal events where you control the message and timing.
Below is a clear, step-by-step guide, with short notes where helpful.
Quick start (6 steps)
1) Create your first campaign
-
Go to Campaigns in the left navigation.
-
Click Create Campaign.
-
Your campaign automatically creates in Draft.
Notes
-
New campaigns start with a simple Header + Rich text body + Footer layout. You can keep, remove, or replace these blocks.
-
Draft is the only state you can edit or delete.
-
If a campaign is Scheduled, change it back to Draft to delete it.
-
Sending, Sent, and Cancelled campaigns can’t be edited or deleted.
-
2) Choose your audience
- In To, pick a base segment:
- All Subscribers (must have email marketing consent)
- Engaged in last 180 days (opened or clicked an email in the last 180 days, and still subscribed)
- (Optional) Add filters:
- Location: in or not in selected countries/regions. Uses the address saved on each customer profile.
- Purchased: in or not in last 7, 14, 30, or 60 days.
Notes
-
Consent is required. Buyers who never subscribed to marketing consent will not receive campaigns. This is managed automatically
-
Klaviyo integration (recommended):
-
If connected, Instant AI uses Klaviyo engagement (opens, clicks) and subscription status for segments like “Engaged in last 180 days”.
-
Connect Klaviyo before your first campaign and allow ~2 hours for historical data to sync.
-
3) Build the email
Now you’re in the email block editor and can add, remove, or reorder blocks as you like.
Blocks you can use
-
Rich Text: write and format headings, lists, links, etc.
-
Header / Footer: swipe from your library of branded sections.
-
Image: upload an image, then click the cog to set a link URL.
-
Select Existing: reuse any HTML or images you’ve used in other campaigns or flows.
-
Custom HTML (optional): import your own snippets if enabled.
Notes
-
When you add a URL to an image and save, the link is stored with that image block for future reuse.
-
If Custom HTML isn’t enabled and you want it, contact your Customer Success Manager.
-
UTMs are added for you automatically.
Meet the compliance requirement
You must include an unsubscribe link somewhere in the email. Instant AI checks for it before you can save.
Fastest way
-
Use an Instant footer block (it includes the unsubscribe link by default).
If pasting custom HTML
-
Find your existing unsubscribe link in the HTML.
-
Replace its URL with: href=""
- Keep the visible label (for example: Unsubscribe).
- For plain-text emails, add at the bottom.
Important: You won’t be able to Save until the Instant unsubscribe link is present.
4) Save, send a preview, or schedule
Use Preview (top-right) to toggle between:
-
Editing view (blocks expanded)
-
Preview view (full email layout)
-
Save your campaign.
-
(Optional) Click Send Preview to email yourself a test.
-
Click Schedule Campaign and choose:
-
Send Now (Instant AI will send it in 5 minutes)
-
Schedule for later (pick a date and time at least 5 minutes from now)
-
You’ll see a confirmation showing the subject, preview text, design, audience segment and count, and the send time.
-
Notes
-
Prefer to finish later? Leave it as Draft. Find it on the Campaigns page, open it, then Edit Template, Schedule, or Delete (Draft only).
5) Browse campaigns (once you’ve made a few)
Open Campaigns to see your dashboard.
-
Pick a date range (7, 14, 30, 60, 90, 180 days, last year, month-to-date, quarter-to-date, year-to-date, or custom).
-
At the top you’ll see high-level metrics, calculated with Instant AI’s 5-day open + click attribution.
-
The list shows all campaigns with the newest at the top.
-
Search by name.
-
Filter by status: All, Sending, Scheduled, Draft, Sent, Cancelled.
-
6) View analytics (sent campaigns)
Open any Sent campaign to see full analytics.
