When you onboard with Instant AI, we connect to your domain so we can send email on your behalf. That connection is what keeps your email authenticated and protects your deliverability, and every address you send from is built on it.

We connect using either your main domain or a subdomain. Our preference is your main domain wherever possible, but if that’s already in use or would impact your existing setup, we’ll automatically choose the best available subdomain to avoid disruption.

Your sending domain

This is everything after the @ on your sending address.

  • If we can use your main domain, it will look like yourdomain.com.

  • If we need to use a subdomain, we’ll automatically select the best available option, like send.yourdomain.com or mail.yourdomain.com, depending on availability.

You only authenticate a domain once. After that, any address on that domain works without further DNS changes.

Your sending address

The part before the @ is set on a sender profile. Every brand starts with one default profile, created at setup, and every campaign and flow email sends from it unless you choose another one. For most brands that default is a noreply address on your domain or subdomain, such as [email protected].

You can add more profiles so different email comes from different addresses on the same domain, for example [email protected] for a personal note or [email protected] for help-style emails. See How to send emails from different email addresses.

Sender name

The name that appears in your recipients’ inboxes is the Sender name on the profile that sent the email. The address itself only becomes visible if they inspect the sender details.

Reply to address

Each profile has its own optional Reply to address, so replies to a founder email can reach the founder while replies to your regular marketing go elsewhere. If a profile has no reply to address, it shows No reply-to.

You’ll find all of this in Settings > Email Settings > Account, under Sender profile.

FAQ's

Can I change the address my emails come from?

Yes. Edit the From address on a sender profile, or add a new profile with a different address. You can change the part before the @, and the domain after it stays fixed to your authenticated sending domain.

Can I send from a completely different domain?

Not without authenticating it first. Add and verify the new domain, then set it as your active sending domain. See How to update your sending domain or subdomain with Instant AI.

How does Instant AI choose the subdomain if my main domain isn’t available?

We automatically detect the best available option, such as send, mail, or a similar subdomain, to minimise disruption and maintain alignment with your existing DNS setup.

What happens if I don’t set a “Reply to” address?

The profile shows No reply-to. Set a reply to address on any profile where you want a shopper who hits reply to reach an inbox you check.

Does the name in the inbox match my brand?

Yes. The display name comes from the Sender name on the profile that sent the email, so your default profile keeps your emails consistent and branded while a founder or support profile can show a different name on purpose.
