How does Instant AI manage multiple languages?

If you sell to shoppers in different countries, Instant AI can tailor your flow emails to each shopper’s language and currency. Spelling and currency are handled automatically, and you can switch on Shopper Language localisation to generate AI copy in each shopper’s browsing language too. It applies to flows only and to AI-written copy only.

What happens automatically

Spelling and currency already localise for every shopper, with no setup required. A shopper browsing in a region that uses Euros sees Euro pricing, and spelling follows their locale.

Localising AI copy with Shopper Language localisation

Shopper Language localisation adds a language layer on top, so the AI-written parts of your flow emails are generated in the language each shopper was browsing your store in. It is off by default.

To turn it on:

  1. Click the Settings cog in the bottom left corner of your Instant AI dashboard
  2. Select Email Settings
  3. Go to Preferences
  4. Turn on Shopper Language localisation

How it works

When the setting is on, Instant AI reads the language and country each shopper selected while browsing your store, then generates their AI copy to match. This happens automatically and is unique to every shopper, so two people opening the same flow can receive it in two different languages.

  • A shopper browsing your store in Germany receives German copy with Euro pricing
  • It applies to flows only, not campaigns

What localises and what doesn’t

Only the content Instant AI writes can be localised. That means a shopper receives the following in their language:

  • Subject lines
  • Body copy blocks
  • Any other dynamic AI-written copy

Everything else stays in your store’s default language, including:

  • Any manual text you add yourself
  • Static elements such as unsubscribe buttons and footer copy
  • Anything else that is not AI-generated

Note: Because only AI-written copy localises, an email that mixes AI-written and manual content can go out in more than one language.

FAQ

Do I need to set up a language for each country? No. Spelling and currency localise automatically, and Shopper Language localisation works out each shopper’s language for you. There is no list to configure.

How does Instant AI know which language to use? It follows the language and country the shopper selected while browsing your store, worked out automatically for each individual shopper.

Is Shopper Language localisation on by default? No. It is off by default, so all AI copy stays in your store’s default language until you turn it on.

Does it work on campaigns? No. Shopper Language localisation applies to flows only.

Will my manually written copy be translated? No. Only AI-written copy such as subject lines and body copy localises. Manual text, unsubscribe buttons, and other static content stay in the language you set them in.

Can I turn it off later? Yes. Return to Email Settings > Preferences and turn the toggle off to send all AI copy in your store’s default language again.
