Troubleshooting Your DNS Settings for Instant AI

To send emails through Instant AI, your DNS must be set up and verified correctly. If your preview emails are failing or your domain hasn’t verified after 48 hours, it’s likely due to a DNS issue. Here’s how to troubleshoot and get back on track.

1. Check Your DNS Status

  • Go to Configuration → DNS in the Instant dashboard.
  • Click Verify
  • If your verification is still pending, we'll display a message that we're working on your verification

2. Try Connect your DNS Automatically

  • If you see the “Connect your DNS automatically” button, you’re eligible to use our one-click DNS setup powered by Entri.
  • This is the fastest and easiest way to configure your DNS, and we recommend using it if available.
  • Select this option and follow the prompts to authenticate and automatically integrate

Troubleshooting Tips:  Most domain providers allow only one CNAME record per host. If you’re trying to connect automatically but already using a CNAME with another platform (like Klaviyo or Mailchimp), you won’t be able to add ours without removing the existing one.

  • If you’re ready to switch entirely to Instant, you can replace the existing CNAME.

  • If not, contact our support team and we’ll help you explore alternative setup options.

3. Try Connect your DNS Manually

  1. If you don’t see the automatic setup option, your domain provider isn’t currently supported by Entri, or their service is temporarily down.

  2. In this case, you’ll need to complete setup manually.

  3. Click “Connect your DNS manually” in the DNS screen.

  4. You’ll be shown a list of DNS records (e.g. CNAME, TXT).

  5. Copy these values exactly. DNS is case- and character-sensitive.

  6. Log into your domain provider (e.g. GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Shopify) and add the records.

  7. Save the changes and return to Instant to click “Verify”.

Tip: If you’re unsure how to add DNS records with your provider, search “[your provider] add DNS records” (e.g. “Shopify add DNS records”) for provider-specific guides.
