Instant AI Coupons allow you to automatically apply discounts my selecting one master coupon that we can use at the most suitable touchpoints, optimized to convert.
You have two options when selecting a master coupon:
1. Use an existing Shopify discount
If have complex requirements such as product exclusions, customer groups, or complex conditions then this may be your easiest solution.
- Instant AI will pull in your active Shopify discounts in a list to search from
- Select one active coupon that you'd like us to set as your master discount
- We will create unique, one time use, one time per shopper codes automatically
- Each of our unique coupon codes are all created from this one master discount, and will honour all of the rules or configurations that you set
- Shopify will continue to manage the rules at checkout
- If you are doing this option, we recommend setting NO EXPIRY to avoid having to provide a new discount code when it expires
For example: Existing Coupon code "SAVE10" which has been configured to allow free shipping, and exclude sale items, and we may generate a unique code ATSHW1 which is a one time unique code and embed it in their email however it links to "SAVE10" for all rules at checkout.
2. Let Instant AI create a discount for you
Choose from:
- Percentage discount
- Fixed dollar amount
- Free shipping
You can also set an optional minimum cart value to make sure discounts only show when a shopper has exceeded the minimum order amount.
We'll generate a coupon code through our integration with Shopify. By default, this coupon won't be compatible with any other offer and will generate for one time use, per customer. The coupon expiry will automatically be set for 24 hours after the last email is due to be sent in a flow. This is dynamically calculated per use.
Once enabled, Instant AI will:
- Apply your selected discount to one high-intent touchpoint in each abandonment flow
- Only show the coupon if the shopper’s cart meets your minimum purchase threshold
- Set a default expiry of 24 hours to create urgency (this is managed in Shopify)
Shoppers will see the coupon code in their email, and Shopify will handle redemption rules at checkout. There's no need to configure which touch points or when to apply the coupons. Instant AI will automatically calculate the best touchpoint to apply them in each flow.
When do coupons apply?
Instant AI coupons automatically apply to any of the following features when enabled:
- Sign-up Forms
- Welcome Flows
- Abandoned Checkout Flows
- Abandoned Cart Flows
- Abandoned Browse Flows

FAQ
- What is the default expiry for the coupons that Instant generates?
Each of our coupons show an expiry date which is 24 hours, after the last email touchpoint. For example, if you have a flow with 3 emails and the last email is set to send 72 hours after the first interaction, then the coupon will expire +24 hours from that last date. This is to give sufficient timing so that the coupon can be used for the duration of the entire flow.
Example:
Email 1: Monday
Email 2: Tuesday
Email 3: Thursday
Coupon that's used in this email flow will expire on Friday - How is the expiry date format determined on my coupon?
The date format used on Instant AI emails is determined by the location of the recipient. We use the IP address of the recipient to determine the locale. For example, if interacting with a website while in the US, I will receive my email with the expiry date formatted in US format (MM/DD). However if interacting with a website while in AUS, I will receive my email with the expiry date formatted in AU (DD/MM).
If we cannot determine the location of the recipient for any reason, we will default to the date format of your site. For example, if your site is predominately in the US then we'll prioritise US formatting in the instance we can't verify their location
