Setting Up UTM Parameters for Instant AI in Shopify

Instant AI automatically adds UTM parameters to every email link so you can track performance across your analytics tools and Shopify reports.

Every email link sent through Instant AI will include the following UTM parameters:

What It Means

utm_source=instantai

Tells you the source of the visit is Instant AI

utm_medium=email

Tells you the visitor came through an email

utm_campaign=ABANDONED_CART

Identifies which flow or campaign sent the email (e.g. ABANDONED_CART, WELCOME, PRICE_DROP)

utm_id=marketingFlow_123abc456def

A unique identifier tied to the specific flow and event

 

This URL structure allows you to:

  • Track where traffic is coming from in Shopify or GA4

  • Group performance by campaign (e.g. ABANDONED_CART)

  • Troubleshoot delivery or attribution using the unique utm_id
