What are AI images?

AI images are banner images that Instant AI makes for your multi-step campaigns. When Instant AI drafts a multi-step campaign, it makes an image for each email from your products and your Brand Kit, and puts it in the email for you.

Why you need them

  • Without an AI image, you need to make a banner in another tool and upload it before the campaign is ready to send.
  • If you do not have many campaign images, Instant AI can only reuse the few images you already have.
  • Each AI image shows the products the email promotes, so you do not need a new product photo for each campaign.

How to set it up

Before you start

  • AI images are made only for multi-step campaigns that Instant AI drafts for you. A campaign you build manually does not get AI images.
  • Set up your Brand Kit first. Instant AI uses your logo, colours and fonts from it. To find it, select Brand Kit in the left menu of your Instant AI dashboard.

Get AI images in a new campaign

  1. Go to Campaigns in your Instant AI dashboard
  2. Click Create Multi-Step Campaigns
  3. Pick a suggested campaign, or pick a goal and choose what to promote
  4. Choose how many emails to draft
  5. Click Next
  6. Click See your campaign

Instant AI drafts the emails first, then makes the AI images. Each image takes about a minute. While an image is being made, the email shows a loading card in its place. You can keep working on your campaign while you wait.

Pick a different image

Each time Instant AI makes an image, it makes a few options for you to choose from.

  1. Open the email and click the AI image
  2. In the side panel, under Images, the image marked In your email is the one your email uses
  3. Click another image to use it instead

The image you replaced stays in the panel, so you can switch back at any time.

Make new images

  1. Click the AI image in your email
  2. Click Regenerate images

Instant AI makes a new set of options. Your current image stays in your email until the new images are ready. Previous images stay in your gallery.

Note: Each store has a monthly limit of AI images. When you reach it, you can still pick from the images you already have, but you cannot make new ones until next month.

Change the text on an image

Instant AI adds a headline and a button to some images as separate text, on top of the image.

  1. Click the AI image in your email
  2. Click Edit image
  3. Click the text on the image to change the words, font, size or colour
  4. Click Save

Add another AI image

  1. Open an email in a multi-step campaign that Instant AI drafted
  2. Click AI Image in the side panel, or drag it into your email
  3. Under Products, add the products you want to show
  4. Under Style, add images with the look you want (optional)
  5. Click Generate

How it works

What Instant AI uses to make each image

  • The products the email promotes, with their product photos
  • Your Brand Kit: your logo, colours and fonts
  • Images from your best recent campaigns, so the new image has a similar look
  • The goal of your campaign

Where the image goes

  • Each email in the draft gets an AI image at the top, as its main banner.
  • Some emails get a second AI image further down.
  • Every shopper sees the same image. AI images are not personalised for each shopper.

If an image cannot be made

If Instant AI cannot make an image, your email keeps the image that the AI image was going to replace. If there is no image to keep, the block shows Image could not be generated. Click Try again to make it again.

FAQ

Can I write a prompt for my AI image? No. Instant AI decides what each image shows from your products, your Brand Kit and your campaign goal. You can choose the products and style images when you add a new AI image, and you can pick a different image or make new ones.

Can I use AI images in flows or in campaigns I build manually? No. AI images are available only in multi-step campaigns that Instant AI drafts.

Does a failed image count towards my monthly limit? No. Only images that are made count towards the limit.

Can I replace an AI image with my own image? Yes. Delete the AI image block and add an Image block with your own image instead.

Should I check the image before I send? Yes. Check that your products and logo look correct, and that the text on the image is right, before you schedule your campaign.
